Born in 1789 in Mexico City, Leona was raised in an environment of rebellion and independence, which led her to become one of the most prominent figures of the Mexican independence movement.

Her home became a hub for clandestine operations, where messages and supplies for the cause were distributed. She was captured and imprisoned, but her spirit was never broken. She managed to escape and continued her fight until Mexico achieved its freedom.
