After the historic achievement of women’s suffrage in Mexico in 1953, Amalia González continued her work on the international stage. She was one of the first Mexican women to hold a high-level diplomatic post, representing Mexico as ambassador to Sweden, Switzerland, and Finland, and bringing her voice to the United Nations. Throughout her diplomatic career, she advocated for human rights and social justice, establishing herself as a key figure in global diplomacy.
Amalia not only fought for voting rights but also promoted women’s participation across all sectors of society, from politics to education. Her influence extended beyond borders, and her legacy continues to inspire both women and men to advocate for equality and justice.
